Whyte Decisions Rivas After Late Knock Down. WBC mandatory.

In boxing news Dillian Whyte defeated Oscar Rivas in a 12 round battle. Jabs were active early for both with Whyte shifting the momentum in the second round wobbling Rivas who did well in sustaining the onslaught.
Rivas would land his shots selectively out the gate as he looked to dial in his punching accountability, especially in keeping Whyte honest early on. Rivas worked for control to sway the momentum from an active Whyte on the frontside of the contest but found himself in pursuit. Through the first six frames, Whyte cushioned a comfortable padding on the score cards, Rivas seemed bewildered as to the plan of action to change the tide in slowing down a much heavier Whyte who numbered the scales at 259lbs. Whyte mid drift was noticeably rounder to it previous condition, but didn’t expedite Rivas to ring the door bell in finding a home immediately with some solid body-shots.
As the middle rounds drifted in, so did the action from Rivas to power up the cylinders to his combinations, landing solid shots, and placing Whyte on notice in flashing spurts as he drew up a late surge. Rivas would swing the hammer nicely in the 11th round, blasting an hallmark uppercut nicely to the chin of Whyte, dropping him on his wallet. It was now or never for Rivas as he pounced on a groggled Whyte who did well in surviving the firestorm of detriment.. As the final frame ticked the night, Rivas last stance wouldn’t be enough to pull off a respectable upset to close out a desperately needed knock out. Rivas and his team fell short with the late surge as the final bell sealed their reality.
Scorecards: 115-112, 115-112, 116-111… @DillianWhyteNow WBC interim Champ & mandatory challenger
“I went to move, I crossed my leg and got caught with a punch,” noted Whyte of the bout’s lone knockdown. “I won every round after that.”

“I went to move, I crossed my leg and got caught with a punch,” noted Whyte of the bout’s lone knockdown. “I won every round after that.”Whyte has been vocal in denigrating several of his heavyweight compeers in keeping his disdain active about his place in line for another title shot. Whyte previous contest with former unified champion Anthony Joshua ended beneath the lights in a seventh round knock out.
Since then, Whyte has rallied ten straight wins to his credential credits but has struggle to ignite his name as a fan favored in this boxing mania. Whyte shall fight on with a bit more gratification, with this win, he is now the number one mandatory challenger for the WBC heavyweight crown that is currently held by undefeated titlist Deontay Wilder.
