Recently, UFC superstar Jon Jones pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated calendared from his 1 AM, March 26 arrest in New Mexico. His original paperclip of citations were aggravated DWI, negligent use of a firearm, open container and no proof of vehicle insurance. Attending his court appointment, Jones was able to cop a plea deal with prosecutors for a lighter sentence, a no-brainier factoring in consideration he’s a repeat offender for serious criminal mischief. The punishment rendered four days house arrest and one year supervised probation.

In addition he may have to wear an ankle monitor, pay $500 fine, 90 days drug treatment outpatient program, 48 hours of community service and a installation of an ignition interlock device in his operating vehicle. This adheres Jones to submit a breathalyzer for the car to start.

“His attorney and Mr. Jones have been made aware that if he fails to do this, the State will seek to impose the balance of any jail time without regard for any exceptional circumstances,” officials say.

A light kick in the rear-end for Jones, who’s an elite reigning and defending active light heavyweight champion in the UFC, hosting a record 8 title defenses to his impeccable ledger in the sport.

An important note is his sentencing has yet to be adjudicated by a judge but rest assured there won’t be any grandstanding finale to this incident. The less air time the better.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, officials are allowing Jones to participate in the outpatient program via video conferencing.
